Asking

The Last Lecture and The Secret have given me pieces of gold advice. One that I have recently taken to heart is asking. It never hurts to ask and one question made my night positive.

My uncle, who is visiting from Wisconsin, bought two tickets for me and him to see The Dark Knight in IMAX. Me, being the loving brother I am, told Joshua to come along. The only problem would be if the show was sold out. I chose to remain positive so we continued.

I get to the "The Movie Experience" at the Anaheim Garden Walk and the giant LED sign flashes sold out.

Here's where the asking comes in handy. I could have been defeated and just walked away but I asked if there was anyway i could possibly buy a ticket and go in. On a side note, i was planning to buy a ticket for a separate movie and try to sneak in. That would have been detrimental to my cause because they checked the tickets right in front of their theater. The ticket seller told me at first that it was sold out but she would try to help me. As she looked for her manager i see another group of people buy the tickets that the other person was going to sell me if she wasn't off looking for the manager. I remain in good hopes and she tells me that i have a chance at buying tickets that people will return. That ends up working and i get to see the Dark Knight once again.

Even though that's a pretty happy ending it isn't quite my happy ending. What made this night so good is that i applied knowledge that i learned. I stayed positive and what i wanted came to me. There's just a little more...Because they helped me i wanted to help the two girls at the ticket counter. I offered Disneyland and I'm proud i could do it. I feel amazing at this moment, I'll probably look back and laugh at my giddiness.
